Controlar at APEX EXPO 2026

Showcasing PCB Test, Programming and Automation Solutions in Anaheim

APEX EXPO 2026 once again proved to be a key meeting point for professionals across the electronics manufacturing industry. From March 17–19 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Controlar welcomed visitors, partners, and industry experts to Booth 627 to explore solutions designed to support modern electronics production environments.

Throughout the event, our team presented a range of systems for PCB handling, in-circuit testing (ICT), functional circuit testing (FCT), and in-system programming (ISP), while engaging with manufacturers looking to improve performance, reliability, and scalability in their test processes.

The three days of the exhibition provided valuable opportunities to discuss real production challenges, exchange insights with industry peers, and demonstrate how Controlar technologies support efficient, flexible electronics manufacturing.

With Controlar USA established in Anderson, SC, and an active partnership strategy at APEX 2026, Controlar Global is redefining how North American electronics manufacturers approach inline test handling and production automation.

Highlights from Booth 627

Visitors to the Controlar booth experienced live demonstrations of several systems designed to address demanding PCB testing and programming applications.

The discussions focused on topics such as:

  • Increasing throughput with in-line test handling

  • Improving contact stability and repeatability in complex ICT setups

  • Enabling fast product changeovers in high-mix environments

  • Integrating test systems with existing production lines and MES platforms

Engineers, production managers, and industry specialists joined our team to evaluate different approaches to improving efficiency in board-level testing and validation processes.

Systems Demonstrated at APEX EXPO 2026

XILS800

In-Line Test Handling

The new version of the XILS800, an extended in-line test handler, is designed for demanding PCB test applications, supporting ICT, ISP programming, and FCT. The system is optimized for environments with large PCB formats and high test point counts. Its modular architecture enables scalable configurations while maintaining high throughput and reliable performance in automated production lines.

OLS400

Compact Functional Testing

The OLS400 is a semi-automatic handler designed for functional testing and boundary scan applications. With a pneumatic press and support for bed-of-nails configurations, the OLS400 enables efficient product changeovers using Quick Change Over (QCO) concepts while offering modern connectivity through MQTT-based monitoring and control. Its compact footprint and flexible architecture make it well suited for laboratories, pilot lines, and production environments requiring adaptable test platforms.

Flash Handler

In-Line ISP Programming

The Flash Handler, powered by SMH Technologies, was also highlighted at the booth as a compact system for in-line PCB programming and ISP applications. Designed for high throughput and flexibility, the handler supports quick changeovers and can be integrated into a larger automated sequence combining programming and testing steps within a single production flow.

Collaboration with Industry Partners

The booth also highlighted collaboration with technology partners, reinforcing Controlar’s commitment to integrated manufacturing solutions.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore SMART INFINITY, a multifunction automation platform developed by MSTECH Europe, designed to combine inspection, cleaning, curing, dispensing, and process tracking into a single scalable production environment.

Together with partner technologies such as SMH Technologies’ in-system programming solutions, these integrations demonstrate how complementary systems can support more efficient and transparent manufacturing processes.

A Week of Discussions and Industry Connections

Throughout the exhibition, Booth 627 welcomed a steady flow of visitors interested in discussing production challenges, new testing requirements, and future developments in electronics manufacturing.

The event created valuable opportunities to meet with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders, exchanging ideas on how modern automation, advanced testing strategies, and digital connectivity are shaping the future of electronics production.

Looking Ahead

Participation in APEX EXPO is an important moment for Controlar to engage with the North American electronics manufacturing community. By presenting new developments and strengthening partnerships, the event reinforces Controlar’s mission of delivering reliable, flexible, and scalable solutions for board-level testing and automation.
