Overview

The Flash Handler is a compact and cost-effective solution compatible with various electronic test technologies for PCB assembly and demanding testing applications.

It is designed to meet specific requirements for In-System Programming (ISP), supporting a wide range of PCB dimensions and providing future expandability.

Additionally, the Flash Handler offers high handling speeds, along with a quick and easy setup process for a smooth and continuous product changeover. These handlers can be connected in a serial line enabling an In-Line system configuration with other handlers.

Product Configuration

  • Robust construction: Built with a high-resistance aluminum structure, capable of withstanding forces up to 8 kN.

  • Automatic conveyor adjustment: Conveyor width automatically adapts to product dimensions, with programmable memory settings.

  • High-speed conveyor: Programmable transport speeds up to 1000 mm/s.

  • Pneumatic compression system: Includes dual-stage actuation for reliable test contact.

  • Lateral DUT connector actuation: Supports precise insertion of USB, Ethernet, and other connectors for enhanced repeatability.

  • Efficient handling: Approximate machine cycle time of 5 seconds (excluding testing).

  • Quick fixture exchange: Ergonomic design enables fixture changeover in under 3 minutes.

  • Fixture validation: Fixture coding on both top and bottom plates ensures product and fixture recognition.

  • Modular pilon blocks: Designed for integration of CAN, RF, pneumatic, or other specific instrumentation.

  • System communication: Compatible with .NET, NI LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW, or other platforms using TCP/IP communication.

  • Beckhoff virtual PLC with HMI: Ensures advanced system control and intuitive monitoring.

  • Compatible fixture kits: Compatible with XILS600 and ILS700 fixture kits.

Main Applications

The Flash Handler is designed for in-line PCB programming operations, especially where production requires:

  • High throughput and short handling cycles

  • Fast fixture exchange for continuous production and frequent changeovers

  • Support for multiple PCB sizes and technologies

  • Reliable connection for interfaces such as USB and Ethernet

  • Serial line connectivity to build scalable in-line configurations with other handlers

  • Integration of instrumentation (CAN, RF, pneumatic, or customer-specific interfaces)

  • Compatible with instrumentation from multiple manufacturers, such as Teradyne, Keysight,
    Checksum, TRI, and more.
