Overview
The RGB Analyzer Test Station is an advanced testing system designed to ensure the luminous quality of light guides and LED components. Developed to deliver maximum precision in intensity and color measurement, it evaluates both x-y and u-v color spaces, guaranteeing uniform and deviation-free illumination. This solution combines speed, reliability, and traceability, making it an essential tool for production lines that demand high quality control standards.
Its compact, automated design, along with a self-calibration system using a spectrometer and reference part, enables a complete testing cycle in under 13 seconds. Integrated with proprietary software and an intuitive HMI interface, the station ensures efficient operation and minimal human intervention. These features make it especially well-suited for use in demanding industrial environments.
Ideal for manufacturers seeking full control over the quality of their optical systems, the RGB Analyzer delivers cutting-edge technology tailored to today’s industry needs. With its focus on precision, usability, and integration, it supports advanced quality assurance processes and contributes to the continuous improvement of product reliability and visual performance.
Product Configuration
The RGB Analyzer Test Station testing process begins with software initialization from the PC and model selection via the HMI. Once ready, the operator loads the products into the tooling nests and starts the cycle using the touchpad. The station’s carriage automatically moves the tooling into a sealed chamber, specifically designed to eliminate any external light interference and ensure precise measurement.
Inside, a press secures the parts, locking them in place with pneumatic valves, and connects them electrically to power the optical systems. At this point, the test equipment measures the intensity and color emitted by each unit in under 3 seconds, analyzing the data within the x-y and u-v chromatic spaces. All information is processed by the PC and communicated to the PLC, which visually indicates to the operator—via individual signal lights for each product—whether the part is compliant (green) or not (red).
The carriage returns the parts to the loading area and, in case of failure, the touchpad flashes red to alert the user, who must validate the part before initiating the next cycle. The entire process is designed to maximize repeatability, minimize human error, and ensure full traceability for every test.
Main Applications
The RGB Analyzer Test Station is ideal for environments requiring strict control of light quality, intensity, and chromaticity. It is mainly used in the automotive industry to validate light guides and optical systems for both interior and exterior applications. It’s also valuable in consumer electronics for backlit products, and in sectors like aerospace and railways, where light control in panels and signaling is critical. In short, any production line needing RGB color verification, luminous intensity, and batch consistency will benefit from this station.
