Overview

This automated Assembly Line was developed to perform semi-automatic assembly and inspection of electric and plastic components, with the minimum of human intervention.
Hand labor is only required for the supply of the devices to be tested on the different setups. In this particular case it was possible to automate an assembly process with high repeatability and inspection in order to maximize production and error detection, reducing variability, bottlenecks and providing a consistent quality output.

Line Configuration:

  • Station 1: initiates two assembly lines for the products: the lower and the fuse cover. The machine is configured to operate with two products serving as a traceability machine by printing labels;
  • Station 2: assembly of the wiring for the fuse cover and the shunt, followed by electrical verification;
  • Station 3: insertion and assembly of a set of electrical components
  • Station 4: insertion of secondary locks on the covers and electrical verification to ensure proper placement;
  • Station 5: manual insertion and assembly of components, including scanning of component labels to be attached to the piece, and attachment of components to the piece;
  • Stations 6 and 7: insertion of terminals for the lower cover , along with electrical verification for correct insertion and placement, and visual inspection of the connectors;
  • Stations 8 and 9: insertion of relays, visual verification by camera, and screw fitting;
  • Station 10: securing of the pieces (fixation of the both the lower and fuse covers with locks and screws), followed by labeling for identification;
  • Station 11: final inspection: conducts electrical testing on the components and internal connections of the piece.

Main Applications

This Semi-Automatic Assembly Line was developed to meet the high standards of the automotive industry, which makes it suitable for other industries as well, and can be customized for various types of products that require automatic assembly, sorting and inspection of small components.
