Overview
To address the testing requirements of AC Measurement Products, Controlar developed automated testing solutions designed to perform testing on both modular and single-unit devices used in alternating current measurement and energy monitoring, such as Digiware modules.
These solutions combine automated tray handling with a Cartesian axis system and a dual-gripper robotic concept, enabling the simultaneous handling of two products. This architecture ensures high throughput, repeatability, and process efficiency, making it ideal for demanding industrial testing environments.
Line Configuration
- Manual loading of stacks of trays containing the various modules to be individually tested.
- Automatic separation of trays from the stack and positioning in the work area where the robot operates.
- Robotic removal of modules, one by one, from each tray and transport to the different test stations for:
-
- Delayed Product Personalization (Software Loading)
- Dielectric withstand (high voltage) testing for 3U Modules
- Electrical Calibration and Metrology (Voltage / Current)
- Robotic return of compliant modules to the original tray after test completion.
- Automatic rejection of non-conforming products and routing to NOK drawers intended for the collection of rejected units.
- Final return to the operator of stacks of trays with tested products, ready for the next production stage or for shipment.
Main Applications
These automated testing solutions were developed to meet the stringent requirements of AC measurement product validation, making them suitable for a wide range of industries where accuracy, safety, and reliability are critical. The system can be adapted to both modular and single-unit products and customized for applications requiring automated functional testing, high-voltage safety verification, electrical calibration, and end-of-line inspection.
